January Company was originally started in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 1948 manufacturing only Chinese sausage. After years of steady growth, the company was moved to Seattle, WA in 1978 to be managed by the current company president, James Ding, as well as become a USDA inspected facility. Recognizing the growing demand in U.S. for Chinese sausage as well as the diversity of its product line. The Yangtze Chinese Style BBQ Pork product line was added. In 1985, 33 years after moving to Seattle, January Company outgrew its facility; in 2011, the company moved to a 94,000 square foot facility in Kent, WA.
